Founder and Chess Coach
I’m Ankita Jain, a 16-year-old chess enthusiast. My passion for the game drives me to share my knowledge through blogs and champion chess for young girls, aspiring to encourage greater participation and recognition of its value in schools and universities.
After noticing the absence of youth chess in Ottawa post-COVID-19, I founded the Kanata Chess Academy to create a thriving community for young players. Over the past two years, our academy has nurtured and mentored over 200 children, with some excelling in competitive play. My primary mission is to break the gender barrier in this traditionally male-dominated game and attract a diverse group of young players.
Aside from chess, I’m a typical teenage girl. I have a twin brother and two younger twin sisters. I love hanging out with my best friend, listening to music, and traveling.
